The Girl with Grit, Style, and Vision: An Interview with Kayla Moore
Sadly, it’s become a rarity to see leaders out there who are willing to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty. It seems as if leadership has become more of a title and status rather than a position of putting in the actual work.
Therefore, it’s refreshing and inspiring when you see those in leadership roles working right alongside their teams. Those who have ambitious energy that elevates the team around them, even when the waters are rough or the vision gets blurry. A true leader knows how to navigate these situations so those around them can be successful and come together to create something amazing.
Kayla is one of those badass leaders! Her story is admirable because she doesn’t hinder her passions and always finds a way to wear the many hats of the hustle. From her education, to her full-time job, and a side hustle in the mix— this girl knows what it takes to make the dream work and selflessly leads by example.
Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself and your career- i.e. business, entrepreneurship, side hustle, career(s), etc.
A: I live in L.A. but I’m originally from Texas.
I’m a Business major with a concentration in Supply Chain & Operations Management, currently working for Pepsico.
My Side Hustle — I’m an avid Poshmark ambassador and seller. Poshmark is a fashion app where you can buy and sell clothing as well as accessories. (Handle- @konsigned).
Q: What life advice would you give to your younger self and why?
A: Say ‘yes’ more often. Take advantage of every opportunity, even if you think it’s not directly related to you. If you keep an open mind, doors will open and you will learn and grow more than you ever thought possible!
Q: Do you have a mantra/ quote that you live by?
A: Kindness NEVER goes out of style.
Q: What do you believe is the most powerful quality a person can bring into the work force and why?
A: Grit. Nothing trumps good ole’ hard work. The greatest leaders are the ones who have a vision and consistently do whatever it takes to get there. Even on the hardest of days.
Q: What daily habits/routines do you set in order to protect your feminine energy?
A: I’m big into making lists. Write down the things you want to achieve. Break down your long- term goals into easy steps. Create daily to-do lists and then roll up your sleeves and get to work!
Q: What does self-love mean to you and how do you incorporate it into your hustle?
A: It means trusting the path your soul is on. It’s about being honest about what you want in life and then unapologetically going for it. When things get tough, give yourself a damn hug and allow yourself time to relax and refocus. When you are feeling worn out or stressed, listen to your body! Give yourself the nurturing, rest, exercise, and comfort it needs.

The best advice I have ever received is this: You need 3 hobbies in life. One that makes you money. One that gives back. One that keeps you in shape.
